In preparation for Foothill College’s Latinx Heritage Month 'Stay in Class Challenge' Event 5.11.20 at 10am via Zoom, I am utilizing this anonymous blog linked from the Foothill College Website > Office of Equity where students-- specifically of color--could provide insights, concerns and / or feedback to college-wide talking points.
This event is designed to show students of color that there is a community / support team of educators who are committed and invested in their academic, professional and personal success especially in these chaotic times.
We as educators have been hearing from high level caring and engaged Administrators along with awesome Industry Experts. In conjunction with all the excellent insights from the workshops and conferences, I intend to hear from students directly, their voices and concerns on this topic specifically--grades, exams, dropping out of classes and/or dropping out of college.
